A useful comparison records what the buyer can actually complete today. A menu label is only a starting point. Select scenarios that reflect the union’s membership structure, representation work and employer reporting obligations, then weight them before demonstrations begin.
Step 01
Prepare a common scenario pack
Use fictional records for a member transfer, a grievance reassignment, a remittance discrepancy and a bilingual notice. Include expected actors, source evidence and a restricted account for each. Ask vendors to show the current product, and identify configuration work or external services separately.
Step 02
Score depth rather than labels
For every scenario, record audience, channel, source ownership, permissions, review steps, history and recovery. Distinguish a shipped workflow from a partial, integrated, planned or unverified claim. Keep unknown separate from absent, and avoid counting the same underlying capability twice.
Step 03
Finish with an implementation decision
Write down required migration effort, staff training, Canadian data hosting, provider dependencies and named operational owners. Keep unresolved questions with due dates. A trial is complete when the group can explain fit and remaining work, not when every screen has been visited.
